Sushrut is my son. We come to know about his autism at the age of 3 years. Then we admitted him in special school namely Zep Rehabilitation Centre. Every member in our home was not accepting about his illness. He was speechless that time, but when started going to Zep Rehabilitation Centre, within 6 months he started to speaking single word and denoted what he wants. At first he was crying to get in classroom. But his teachers worked hard for him. After 3 to 4 months in beginning he started to sit in classroom and taking interest in studies.
Now he speaks well. He has developed more recognition and become more social. He dances and recites very well. Hyperactivity is also decreased, pays attention, doing his academics much better, and I am glad to tell that this is only because of his school.
Thank you to Netra madam and her team. I have no words to express about the efforts taken by school. I can see the positive development in my son only because of Zep Rehabilitation Centre. Now I am very hopeful about Sushrut.
Armaan's Testimonial
Armaan initially didn't follow any instructions now he can at least follow couple of instructions
He was very reluctant to participate in group activities and used to sit alone at one place, now days he started mixing with other children and willing to participate in group activities
At the start he was able to express through actions but now he is able to express with words. He has improve so much that he can sing school prayers with action and willing to talk with teachers, classmates etc.
Zep is helping Armaan to speak sentences so that he can express himself Zep is also helping Armaan to socialize in better way by teaching about sharing n caring of other children. Now he is willing to share his tiffin and wish to help other children
Darpan's Testimonial
When Darpan first came to our school in 2012 he was diagnosed ASD hyperactive disturbed behavior. He started to coming school, attending him was challenging task. He had fixed routine so it took a while for him to get adjusted in class. Eventually he stared following his teachers short commands. After 4-5 yrs Darpan could stay overnight in school camp, though initially his parents were very anxious as he never stayed without them
From last couple of years, he is able to follow most of the instructions given by all teachers without any behavior issues.
With help of teachers we have made Darpan so independent that he can do many basic outdoor social activities.
Now our goal is his vocational rehabilitation. As part of training at Zep he been trained to do many things like Cutting vegetables, peeling off fruits & garlic, making gift bags with minimal instructions, Packing of items with single instruction
Our experience with teaching methods at Zep has flourish many hopes for Darpan's future.
Gauri's Story
Gauri has diagnosed with ASD when she stared going to Zep, she used to cry a lot for all the activities during school. She was totally dependent on teachers including toilet training. Handling Gauri was test of patience for teachers. After few months Gauri started following commands from teacher. Our initial goal in case of Gauri was independent in ADL and we are proud to say that it's been achieved in 6-8 months. Now Gauri sits quietly, eats her tiffin, and follows all commands. She does all activities of focusing, fine motor, yoga etc. Meanwhile she also started socializing, actively participating in celebration of birthdays, festivals.
