A speech disorder refers to a problem with the actual production of sounds whereas a language disorder refers to a difficulty understanding or putting words together to communicate ideas.

The special children such as mentally retarded, autistic with cerebral palsy, hyperactive children are unable to express their needs & feelings due to which they develop behavioral issues, restlessness or get irritable and can hurt themselves or others too.

A speech & language therapist at Zep helps to develop better control of the jaw & mouth muscles which can improve speech and language skills of special children. They also help to develop creative communication methods like pointing gestures, site reading, and communication board for those who cannot speak. This therapy can make a dramatic difference in the life of autistic and C P teens. For many kids routine is very important. Building conversational routines can help to improve language.

Cerebral palsy and speech therapy have been intertwined since the first diagnosis to the condition. Our Speech therapist helps the children at Zep, to correct their speech disorders, to restore speech, to use communication aids, to learn sign language and to improve listening skills.

The level of therapy is determined by the child’s cognitive level to communicate. Some people with cerebral palsy have problems moving their mouth to form words correctly because of muscle control. Hearing loss can be evident as well in a person with cerebral palsy. Our Speech therapist can help them to speak more clearly and help them to build their language skills by learning new words and by learning to speak in sentences. Also helps them to improve their listening skills.
